Joey Veltkamp is a queer folk artist based out of Seattle who makes soft paintings (flags, blankets, banners) which are meant to provide comfort to the marginalized. His work has been shown at the Frye Art Museum, Tacoma Art Museum, Henry Art Gallery, Greg Kucera Gallery, SOIL Gallery, and others. Seattle Art Museum recently acquired his quilt, GLACIER. He is overly fond of rainbows and bourbon.
